Groundbreaking for the expansion of production in St.Gallen

At HAUG Sauer Kompressoren AG, the leading manufacturer of oil-free and gas-tight piston compressors, the groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of the production in St. Gallen took place.

Sauer Compressors Group invests in the future

  • Sauer Compressors Group, leading manufacturer of high-pressure piston compressors, has invested EUR 4 million in a production expansion in its Swiss subsidiary HAUG Sauer Kompressoren AG
  • HAUG Sauer stands for the competence center for oil-free and gas-tight piston compressors for air and gas compression
  • The expansion of the HAUG Sauer production hall consists of a total area of 2’200 m2
  • The existing part of the production will be renovated
  • Construction will start in 2020
  • The completion will take place in 2021

Investments are associated with growth

The Sauer Compressors Group is growing continuously and will also continue to grow in 2020. In this way, an increase in sales was again achieved in the 2019 financial year.

The sales and sales growth also has an impact on the Swiss company HAUG Sauer Kompressoren AG. Production capacities will become scarce in the medium term. With its planned investment program, HAUG Sauer is now responding to the increasing sales figures and steadily increasing orders. The company will invest several million euros in its production over the next few years.

Expansion of the production hall for environmentally friendly piston compressors

The oil-free and gas-tight piston compressors for gas and compressed air will be manufactured in the newly planned production hall of 800 m2. The new hall will be primarily used for the manufacturing and assembling of HAUG.Titan and HAUG.Sirius NanoLoc. HAUG.Titan is an oil-free and gas-tight piston compressor with an output of up to 110 kW and aims at applications with high flow rate demands. HAUG.Sirius NanoLoc is an oil-free and gas-tight high-pressure piston compressor for gas compression up to 450 bar.

Due to the unique design features, the HAUG compressors enable environmentally friendly and emission-free compression of all possible gases and thus sustainable solutions to improve the environment.

Environmentally friendly energy generation

HAUG Sauer aims to minimize the environmental impact of its activities. In addition to the production of environmentally friendly piston compressors, HAUG Sauer will generate the electricity for its offices and production by means of a photovoltaic system. The rest of the unused energy will be fed into the urban grid.

Renovation and improvements to the existing part

There is not only an expansion of the production hall planned, but also a renovation and improvement of the existing part. The focus is on modernizing the office and repair center, expanding assembly spaces and test rooms and improving internal logistics and material provision. Customers are very important to HAUG Sauer, which is why the training room for customer training will be also modernized.

New jobs

With these measures, HAUG Sauer will also create new jobs and that is good news for the St. Gallen region.
